About this deal

Some scholars of the Old World have postulated that in times of magical dearth, Chimerae simply abandon the mortal plane altogether, to instead hunt prey through the rich and sorcerous fields of the Realm of Chaos. Others believe that Chimerae are not creatures of flesh and blood at all, but rather monsters called into being only when the Winds of Magic are at their most fulsome -- savage emissaries sent by the darkest of the Dark Gods. Regardless of where the truth lies, none can argue that when a Storm of Magic bursts, the tri-throated roars of hunting Chimerae are never far behind. [2a] Marauder Colossus - This variant of the Marauder was designed as a heavy ordinance bomber capable of destroying heavily fortified structures and strong-points. The Earthshaker shells are renowned for the powerful shrieking they make during flight, the mere sound of which is often enough to break enemy morale. Additionally, the guns produce a tremendous muzzle report, and it is also mentioned that Earthshaker crews tend to experience hearing loss. Unlike the other artillery units in the Imperial Guard, such as the Bombard, Griffon, and Manticore, the Basilisk is capable of direct as well as indirect fire, giving it a limited ability to defend itself from enemy vehicles and infantry. In the direst of circumstances, Basilisks may be used as secondary battle tanks if given adequate protection. Consequently, Basilisks are often placed at the front of an artillery detachment. In Warhammer 40,000 tabletop wargaming, datasheets and indexes are two different components that provide essential information about the game’s units and rules. Here’s a breakdown of their differences: What are Datasheets?

Edition: May have Flaming Breath or Iron Hard Skin or Venomous Ooze. May have Lash or Fiend Tail. May have Rending Fangs or Whip Tongue. [4a] The dimension comparison between Chimera and IS-3 was a bit of give and take; Chimera was somewhat shorter at 28.5 ft (8.6 meters) to the IS-3’s 32.3 ft (9.8 meters) but also slightly wider at 12 ft (3.6 meters) to 10.6 ft (3.2 meters). Chimera and IS-3 were relatively even on the height measurements, with the former being 9 ft (2.7 meters) to the IS-3’s 8ft (2.4 meters) but had better gun depression of -10 degrees to the Soviet’s -3 degrees

During a major offensive, Imperial Guard reconnaissance units often do not have enough vehicles to fulfill all of the necessary missions. In this case, the shortfall is made up by Armour Fist squads operating in Chimeras. A squad will be detached from its parent platoon and company and temporarily attached to the reconnaissance company. Because of this, Armoured Fist patrols and Salamander Scouts often operate together. This is a major improvement for mechanised armies that love to leap from their vehicles and blaze away at close range, like the T’au, Astra Militarum, Aeldari, and power armour-clad warriors of all varieties. You still can’t embark and disembark on the same turn, but you don’t need to keep your engine running for a turn before the doors open – which, coupled with their newfound durability, makes fielding transports more appealing than ever. Squads of Imperial Guardsmen mounted on Chimeras are usually called "Armoured Fist" mechanised infantry units. These squads lend speed and tactical flexibility to the otherwise often slow and rigid formations of the Astra Militarum. An Astra Militarum infantry regiment does not typically include any mechanised elements, as it is difficult for most Imperial planetary governors to obtain and then maintain the vehicles from the Adeptus Mechanicus needed for such units. Because of this reality, it is quite common for Imperial Guard commanders to attach Armoured Fist squads from other, fully mechanised regiments to provide fast-moving armoured transports to non-mechanised infantry units. Valhallan Armoured Regiment - Ferik Jurgen, personal aide to the renowed Commissar Ciaphas Cain, was an expert driver, and always made sure the regiment's vehicle park always contained at least one Salamander, since both he and Cain valued the scout vehicle's combinaison of speed and all-terrain capacity. The Hellhound, based upon the Chimera chassis, is a flame tank. Its main weapon is the Inferno Cannon also called the "Dragon Fire Thrower", which is a large Heavy Flamer that projects streams of burning Promethium at range, making the Hellhound well-suited to close-range support, such as countering enemy melee units that attempt to assault Imperial armoured vehicles and driving dug-in enemies out of cover. It is also armed with a Hull-Mounted Heavy BolterForces of the Inquisition - Fought using Chimeras as armoured transports during the Betalis III Campaign against the Eldar of Craftworld Mymeara The Trojan is an ubiquitous Imperial support vehicle, serving behind the front lines to reload heavier tanks and tow fixed artillery emplacements into position. The Trojan uses the Chimera tank chassis, and is only armed with a single hull-mounted Heavy Bolter.
