About this deal

I would not forget - and if I had to, I would cause myself to suffer even further, should it let me achieve our revenge against the Aridae. That, too, would be added to the things that it had done. It had caused this. Sting] sparked in my mouth, just a little more powerful than before. I found myself idly chomping at the air, enjoying the pleasant spark, while my puppets freed the next bad-thing. With no more Tanglestings to consume, I had been forced to move on to the next-largest grouping of bad-things. They were sleek and thin, with a design that I almost admired. While underwater, they flitted about at high speeds, ambushing their prey and fleeing from the larger bad-things that preyed on them . Their scales, eyes, and teeth all held the blue of mana-water. Perfect predators of the deep were it not for their small size, almost invisible in the mana-water’s currents. I chewed on my own tail. The act was no longer comforting in the way that it used to be. Instead, it was more of a means to an end; it was a step towards revenge, a symbol of my hatred. A precursor to my victories. This story has a great beginning with a lot of what I was looking for. Adventure, battle, survival, growth of character and skills in the system.

Though I had hoped to train my venom resistance further, there were limits to what I could do by myself. I had been forced to inject myself with my own venom. The pain had been terrible; agonizing, even. Yet for the Great Core, I had done it.The newest of the bad-things were odd creatures, with needle-like spikes across their scale-flesh and the tendency to breathe heavily enough that their entire bodies inflated with air. Any time I came close, they would deflate rapidly, launching spikes in my direction.

In the next moment, I broke free - but not from the threads that had bound me. I broke free of my own scale-flesh, leaving a tiny snake-shaped bundle on the ground. The Great Core had blessed me in a way that made the sacred fast-spots and slow-spots seem pointlessly weak. I hissed in displeasure with myself. I had been so eager to drink in the mana-water that I hadn’t even seen the threat that waited above. The Snake That Eats Its Own Tail] had given me the ability to heal. When caught by the Aridae’s threads, I had almost cursed at the Great Core for that. Why, I had thought, had I been caught in a situation where I couldn’t even reach my own tail to heal? It had felt as if I was being taunted; as if a way out was being dangled in front of my fangs, only to be pulled away at the final moment every time. This is basically a slife of life of a tiny snake as he just keeps getting stronger (but, so far, not bigger) with a fervent religious belief in the dungeon core that made him. It's primarily a comedy, especially in so much as the snake and all other characters can't understand each other and the way they fail in that is fairly humorous. It also gets pretty warm hearted later on when, despite the communications barrier, they do good by each other. Before I could manage to break free, we reached the cavern’s ceiling. It was a different world, viewed from this high. I would not have imagined that the glow-caps would look so small, that the giant pool of mana-water would appear so...limited. Slowly, I opened my mouth, letting out my tongue and hissing in defiance. It tasted good. It tasted right . I needed that comfort, after our deadly first encounter. The thought of it still made my scale-flesh tremble. I think it likely always would. The sound, too, was unmistakable. Falling water beat rapidly against the ground and the mana-water that fell before it, repeating again and again like the pulse of a drumming heart. Characters are also interesting but again slow progression of the story means there is not a whole lot to say about it and a fair bit of the 'view' is obviously from the snake who has no clue about humans so character interactions are so far fairly basic but promising and I expect it to keep being interesting in the future if/when they begin to interact a bit more easily.

But Paradox doesn’t care about any of that; not really. Because, while Verdant Grove might be dangerous, it's exactly the type of danger that he feels like he was created for.

Aridae of assorted shapes and sizes scrambled across the strong bundles of thread, winding across them as easily as I might wind across the Great Core’s sacred spots. It was their home, their place of power. Drop by crimson drop, my will faded. My length went numb - not with slow-venom this time, but with pure lethargy. I was tired of struggling. I really like the main character, his point of view, and particularly his interactions with the supporting cast. The characterisation of the relationships and adorable misunderstandings between the cast are amazing . This snek is easily the best snek. The main issue with the story is its premise. This is a litrpg progression time loop story.
