About this deal

In the alternate, non-canon timeline of the Storm of Chaos, Deathmaster Snikch returned from the Far East, leading Clan Eshin to support Archaon, the thirteenth Everchosen of Chaos Undivided. His assassins mainly focused on eliminating high-ranking Imperial officials, often within earshot of their personal guard. [6a] When a unit broke in combat, hordes of cowardly Skaven turned tail and ran away with the deserters, meanwhile if the Horned Rat didn’t favour your dice rolls batteries of overcharged Warp Lightning Cannons and malfunctioning Warpfire Throwers exploded in concert, throwing singed Skaven around like furry confetti. If fortune smiled, Skaven armies could swarm over all, Grey Seers calling great Warp Lightning Storms to scorch and sunder the earth. Every game was an explosive treat and a challenge for generals. Try as they might, no-one ever really knows the precise location of the elusive Deathmaster Snikch save for Snikch himself. That is exactly how the Grand Nightlord likes it, keeping Clan Eshin's enemies squinting around at the shadows in fear. The current rumour echoing around the Under-Empire is that the Deathmaster is somewhere in the vicinity of Gnoblar Country, but as with all Snikch's shady affairs, his exact purpose there is unclear to all but him... Snikch has ventured to Xing Po in Cathay to garner more mastery of the arts of Assassination for Clan Eshin. Grand Nightlord’s Agitator: Regardless of the mark, Snikch always finds a way to get close. Regardless of the Nightlord’s motives, the Deathmaster always sees his master's will done.

It’s good to see both AoS and 40k getting their own days because hopefully, this means tons of reveals along with Horus Heresy and Specialist Games. New AoS Skaven Deathmaster! Cloak of Shadows - All known Deathmasters have possessed a ,magical Cloak of Shadows, a cloak woven from the hair of their victims and integrated with Ulgu, the Grey Wind of Magic, which improves both its user's capability to remain unseen and their physical constitution.Come see what to expect in the near future for AoS, including a new Skaven Deathmaster and Battletome book updated for 3.0 When compared with the rules above, everything matches up pretty well! So while this is rumored, it’s looking pretty good. The only real thing this adds is the stats and running death, where it can run and still shoot. There is just so much to love about this new set. The value here is going to be massive, with both armies getting a huge influx of models in exactly the way each army needs them. For the Sylvaneth, having a new hero, a new set of archers, the Kurnoth Hunters and a Spirit of Durthu (a huge, hulking tree monster) gives the heft and fighting power you need to round out a force of fighting vegetation. For the Skaven, along with the new Deathmaster and the massive Grey Seer on Screaming Bell, you also just get a TON of rats. What I love about this box most of all is the pairing of these two armies. I've always thought that Skaven and Sylvaneth would make wonderful mortal enemies, and seeing them pitted against each other in these fun, inventive Battleplans is a real treat. All in all, I can't recommend Warhammer Echoes of Doom highly enough for anyone interested in either army. The Lady of Vines in all her painted glory. Image: Games Workshop Should I Buy Warhammer Echoes of Doom? In recent years, many of the most baffling and awe-inspiring killings in the Empire have been attributed to the feared Deathmaster. Some say that he dwelt within the halls of the Dwarf Hold of Karaz-a-Karak for an entire winter, preying relentlessly upon the inhabitants. As much as the Dwarfs searched their most ancient and well defended hold, they could never find the silent assassin. Many a noble Dwarf joined the Slayer Cult in dishonour as the Deathmaster continually evaded capture and circumvented even the most vigilant of guards to strike his lethal blows. [6b]

Before release, Snikch was labelled as Double sword infantry despite the fact that he wields a third sword in his tail. The content creators that got early access noted this and Party Elite raised the issue to CA. This led to the label as Triple sword infantry, the only unit in the game to have such a tag. This is a bigger mix of old and new units than expected, but you still get three new units in the box. Two for Sylvaneth and one for Skaven. It does make sense, though, as if there were just new units for the Sylvaneth, the box wouldn’t make a ton of sense for players trying to get into the faction. This is one of the most iconic Skaven pieces, and for good reason. The Warp Lightning Cannon is one of the most powerful Warmachines available to the Skaven, and can devastate even the most heavily armored units. It spews out Mortal Wounds, but has a high chance of damaging itself for its most potent shots. 6. Deathmaster Ultimately they still won’t be doing a ton of damage since they will still cap out 14 damage and that’s if everything goes through, but they make a respectable support unit that will probably make the melee versions far more powerful again. ConclusionThe first act of Interrogator concludes in episode three – Someone Else’s Nightmares – which puts Jurgen and Baldur face-to-face with the forgotten wretches of Gheisthaven as their investigation intensifies. You can also learn how to add realistic verdigris to your miniatures in this week’s Citadel Colour Masterclass. This corroded metal effect will look great on all of your models, from the Mortal Realms to the 41st Millennium. This probably won’t be a centerpiece for your army, but it has some really cool detail that would make for a fun painting challenge. New Battletome Revealed Squeaking of Skaven, we can also reveal the next battletome for Grand Alliance Chaos – the children of the Horned Rat will be emerging into a realm near you very soon!

Honestly everything here is… pretty good. This is an interesting box because both armies are considered near the bottom of the tier list and few debate that they needed the update. The battletome will likely be necessary to see how it all comes together but everything here is either an upgrade or at least an interesting side grade. If this box is a sign of things to come I think players will be very happy. Clan Eshin is one of the Four Great Clans of the Skaven which specialises in the deadly and secretive arts of stealth, murder, poison and assassination learned from the exotic Far East. Out of all the other clans which populate the Under-Empire, Clan Eshin is by far the most secretive and hidden of them all. [2a] Nothing was expected, and so the men were at ease. Sentries had been posted, but they, too, were weary from the road. We'd taken off our armour, set our weapons to the side. A pair of bruisers from Altdorf were throwing dice and telling bawdy jokes. Little did we realize that in mere moments, half of our number would be dead, and the other half would be running for their lives."

Skaven Great Clan Contracts

Gossamid Archers are lethal skirmishers afforded the power of flight by symbiotic zephyrspites – their arrows, loosed from elegant bows, play host to ravenous grubs that bore into their enemies. Yum! Considering the treacherous nature of the Skaven, it is of no wonder that Clan Eshin has become so powerful and so feared. In a race filled with sneaking, scampering cut-throat killers, the warriors of Clan Eshin rank many times above the petty vermin. [2a] Refusing to get into anything close to a fair fight, Deathmasters lurk within teeming throngs of Clanrats or Stormvermin as Hidden Killers, leaping out when the foe is distracted and lashing out with a flurry of throwing stars and savage stabs. If you choose to hide a betailed betrayer in one of your units, you’ll note down which one on a piece of paper – and keep it hush-hush until you’re ready to reveal your Deathmaster at the start of any combat phase. Then they’ll pop out of the unit, landing silently within 3″, ready to stab-kill!

Technically, there were only 12 Lords of Decay at any one time, with the 13th seat of the Council occupied by the Great Horned Rat itself.Other stories attributed to the Deathmaster in recent years involve the killing of the famed Grail Knight Boragild of L'Anguille, a noble knight and victor of countless wars who was beloved across the entirety of Bretonnia. This epitome of knightly honour had his spine severed as he prayed, sending the entire kingdom into mourning. [6b]
