I think Gibbins wants to emulate the true feelings of archaeology as he leaves quite a few questions unanswered by the novel’s conclusion although the hints he drops about these answers could provide a somewhat satisfying end for some readers. I liked this one the best, after the very first one (cause really, after Atlantis everything would be downhill).
