Description

I'm currently working with the three dogs, training them to be working gundogs so they can go out and work in the field. It's about the skill for the animal to be able to perform those behaviors and for them to be reliable. She was great to train because she was always busy, she always wanted to do things, she always wanted to learn. We worked together, we had lots of conversations, and we worked through a lot of the problems, which was great. the book has inspired me greatly and i only hope that i get to meet work with and be trained by Jane Arden one day soon.

Her mission is to help people who are looking for a positive and ethical solution to problems around excitement, arousal, drive and predatory behavior. She explains, with science, why your dogs think the way they do, but in such a simple format that so much falls into place its not just a lightbulb going on its the entire Blackpool illuminations.Bernard-cross-Rottweiler to my very first training class, it was actually a positive training class.

The exercises are fun for both the dog and the handler and you will love the feeling when you start to work together.I am dyslexic and found Mission Control so very easy to read, follow and understand and has taught me so much in a relatively short time and i couldn't put the book down once i started reading it it is that inspirational. I've booked a whole week dog-training holiday for gundog training, working the dogs in a shoot environment. I used to show my Leonbergers, and when you go to a dog show, especially in the open dog class, one dog would just walk in the ring and everybody's eyes would be drawn to this dog. By using a progressive series of interactive games she shows you how you can teach your dog to control his impulses and make ‘good’ choices that he will find rewarding.

They did some MRI scanning on a monk who'd meditated and reached enlightenment, and the MRI scanning showed that when he was meditating, his brain was functioning at perfection and everything was working exactly right. I thoroughly enjoyed reviewing it, and often recommend this book to clients with high drive/high energy dogs who are looking for further/supporting info.Recognized as a hands-on realist, Jane combines an academic background with extensive practical experience as an ‘in the trenches’ trainer. To start us out, can you share a little bit about you, your current pets, what you're working on with them? When you took them home, they were really hard work, because they had that presence and they were usually full on and drive-y. We will look at identifying arousal through observable behaviors including when and how to support your dog.

So the book is very much about my experiences with my dogs, and what they've taught me and what I've learned. As I got into dog training, it drove me into being very aware and making the effort that the teaching people, understanding how to communicate and support and help people, is so important if you want to get your dog training method across to people.

I did find at times some exercises were a bit outdated - not overly so, still progressive by dog training standards - but that was slightly disappointing for me. In 2012 Jane graduated with an honours degree in canine behaviour and training from Hull University, achieving the highest grade ever given in the advanced instructing module. Those who need more advanced stuff will find it in the writing, and those who need to simply follow steps and start have that offered up on a plate with solid reasoning to help them understand the why behind the what when they're ready for it.
