The level of isolation may vary depending on whether the ambient noise isolation feature is present or not. The higher the sensitivity, the more easily the signal is converted to sound and the louder the headphones are able to play at a lower power consumption. Headphones with a higher impedance of around 250 Ohms and above are then more suitable for playback from really powerful signal sources or using a headphone amplifier, otherwise the sound coming out of them might not be loud enough. Never miss a moment with 35 hours of Qi-compatible battery life (including 7 hours in the earbuds + 28 hours in the case). The lower impedance will ensure that the required volume level is achieved with less power, thus extending the life of the player.

Immediately paired as soon as you flip open the case, each earbud of the JBL Free II can be used independently in mono or stereo mode, saving battery life. If you're familiar with JBL, it's most likely because of its speakers, whether you're talking Bluetooth or larger, more professional speakers. One of the main advantages of these headphones compared to over-the-head ones is their stackability and easy portability. They're also easier to carry around, are a bit more comfortable and stable for the gym, and come with a much better charging case. However, their unique shape will not be as comfortable for all users and they have a couple of reliability issues with their wireless Bluetooth connection compared to some of the other truly wireless in-ears below. However, nowadays you can also find headphones on the market that have a battery life in the higher tens to hundreds of hours. This makes them one of the more portable headphones we've tested, and unlike the SoundSport Free, their case is decently portable but not as compact as the Beoplay E8 or the Samsung Gear IconX.

JBL Free true wireless in-ear headphones deliver JBL Signature Sound in an intuitive, yet intelligent package. Thanks to Fast Pair enabled by Google, the FREE II TWS are connected to your Android device the second you flip the case open.

They also have a better-balanced default sound and easier to use controls, although they do not have any buttons for volume, which is a bit disappointing. The earbuds still connect to the phone, and I can get sound out of the left earbud, but nothing comes out of the right ear, what should I do?

The JBL Free have a well-balanced bass, mid and treble ranges that sound relatively neutral and should cater well to most music genres and tastes. JBL's dynamic design here converts the analogue pulsations into audio signals via an electromagnetic system and this provides the means to a spacious range between loud and low-volume parts, resulting in a more attractive sound capability. It is important to remember that high listening volume can consume more energy from connected devices. I enjoyed Sam Sparro’s “Black and Gold,” Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb,” Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons,” Skillet’s “Better than Drugs,” and many others. Headphones with a high sensitivity value (100 dB or more) are designed for use in really noisy environments such as concerts Overall, these headphones can reproduce sound up to 95 dB.The JBL Free Truly Wireless 2018 are slightly better truly wireless headphones than the Apple AirPods (1st generation) Truly Wireless when they have a stable connection. Unfortunately, despite their rugged and decently sturdy design they do not feel or look as premium as some of the other truly wireless headsets we've reviewed, like Beoplay E8 or the Apple AirPods (1st generation) Truly Wireless. Also, the response throughout the range is very well-balanced and virtually flat, but it is consistently over our neutral target by about 1. They also have a bit more tip options and sizes, which make them slightly more comfortable than the JBL.

Battery life is similar to other true wireless earbuds, with JBL claiming a maximum playback time of seven hours with active noise cancellation (ANC) turned off. The JBL Free are decently comfortable headphones but their unique shape may not fit as comfortably for all listeners. In the bass range, where the rumble of airplane and bus engines sit, they achieved about 10dB of isolation, which is about average. It supports up to 24 Mbit/s of theoretical transfer rates, has low energy consumption and limits signal interference by detecting crowded wavelengths and circumnavigating them.

They have a fairly unique design which makes them a bit more compact than other truly wireless headphones but also a bit less stable. If you are looking for the best headset then the JBL Free II In-Ear Truly Wireless Earbuds with Mic is for you.
