I’m really enjoying the lore and aesthetics of Blackstone Fortress, so I was eager to paint one of the miniatures from the new expansion. s vast and dark as a sunless void, the Blackstone Fortress is a creation far beyond the ken of any race in the galaxy. Since these represent 8 of the 13 models in the set, I have gone from ‘hardly started’ to ‘almost finished’ in one go! Supposedly constructed for ‘The War in Heaven’ their exact origins are a mystery as is their overall purpose.

Rather than Astrogranite Debris , I used Martian Ironcrust on the base to reinforce the Mars connection.
