A soundbar isn't a necessity for this TV but it would greatly improve its lacklustre audio performance – if you have the space for one in your home cinema setup you absolutely should add one. The audio gets peaky quickly as if the equipment is being pushed far too hard and it comes across harsh and tinny in the manner of a bad Bluetooth speaker. Toshiba might not be the cutting edge name in TV it once was, but the Japanese giant has not given up the fight for your living room. It's supported by a single large stand that provides more than enough support, but the connection between the screen and stand is a little flimsier than we'd like.
