Although this cable is intended for indoor usage, it is built to be fairly resilient to avoid frequent replacement. Connect it for HDTV and CATV connection, satellite and antenna dish connection, or for your internet modem. And now that I've gone through my memory banks it occurs to me that if I change to Virgin Media, what I actually get is a BT owned network. I've had my own WF100 cable in my current property for 8 years terminated by myself with compression F connectors without any issues with that cabling.

The problem I have is all the cables I need to connect directly into the router (CCTV, Wi-Fi boosters, CAT6 for other TVs in the house) are run through a central wall in my living room. If you have already installed the conduit, and you already have a VM tech coming, I can't see you would gain much (anything) by installing some third party coax cable which might be to VM's spec's. I'm in the process of renovating my house and one of (many) jobs has been to re-run the cable for my virgin media connection. If we want to unite our country and our society, we should commit now to delivering full fibre to every home in the land not in the mid-2030s - but in five years at the outside," he wrote in the Daily Telegraph last month. If there is any damage, the aerial cable can no longer carry the signal effectively and should be replaced. Although BT have their fibre Infinity brand, the problem is that more often than not, the final stretch of cable from the cabinet to your home and into your router will be that same cheap, thin copper cable.

You need to start where it enters the house and check the signal there, it could well be a problem with virgins equipment, its just a process of elimination.

If you don’t have a wired connection in a different room, you are forced to watch catch up streaming services like Iplayer. This or these feeds convey the TV channels to said boxes as well as conveying internet to your modem/router. The deal is that you use their cables as opposed to using your own and has nothing at all to do with any legal rights Virgin have to prevent you from touching their equipment while on your property. You won’t get adequate audio or visuals if you don’t have the proper coax cable, no matter how good your TV or antenna is. I get the feeling I might end up needing to rip off my nice new skirting boards to hide the cabling!
