The big difference is supposed to be that chemical agents absorb UV-light while physical agents reflect it like a bunch of mini umbrellas on top of the skin. I won’t throw out my other sunscreens just yet LOL…and will keep testing/reviewing mineral sunscreens from brands like Australian Gold, Elta MD, and Versed. I probably wouldn't use it on the face as it's a little heavy for my oily/combo skin, but on a child's facial skin it would work just fine.

Regular sized Titanium Dioxide also has a great safety profile, it's non-irritating and is pretty much free from any health concerns (like estrogenic effect worries with some chemical filters). Hopefully there will be some more winners in the bunch but for now I am happy to say I have found my new favorite sunscreen brand. I'd love to always wear my favorite non-water-resistant spf, but unfortunately those are not so helpful for when you're at the beach/pool - on such days, I dread having to reach for the thick pasty gloopy water-resistant ones. The Sensitive Non-Tinted Sunscreen does start to show its mineral roots after a few layers throughout the day (especially when exercising/sweating).The very minimal white cast from the non-tinted version and the total lack of white cast from the tinted is something I have not experienced from a Zinc Oxide based product before. One of the biggest reasons we get lines and premature skin damages is from not applying a good sunblock.
