In October 2008, they also appeared on MTV Day, in Greece, along with bands like the (Greek) C-Real, REM and the singer Gabriella Cilmi. [58] Mojo (p.98) - 4 stars out of 5 -- "Opener 'Ruby' is a foot-to-the-floor, festival monster-in-waiting, while 'Highroyds' recalls Blur's effervescent, buzzsaw pop." Parva's career went beyond the boundaries of Leeds, and the band was able to obtain both a record and publishing deal. However, after Beggars Banquet closed the Mantra label, Parva were dropped and left desolate and without any direction after the release of an album ( 22) and three singles ("Heavy", "Good Bad Right Wrong" and "Hessles"). Stay Together, the band's sixth studio album, was released on 7 October 2016. It was co-written and produced by Brian Higgins, whose production company Xenomania has worked with the likes of Girls Aloud and Pet Shop Boys. The album's name is a reference to the song "We Stay Together". [49] [50] The first single from the album, " Parachute", was released on 14 June 2016. The second single, "Hole In My Soul" was released 18 August 2016 and the third and final single, "We Stay Together" was released on 9 December 2016.The Kaiser Chiefs also have an emergent swagger on their second album, perhaps a product of the success of their debut. In the closer Retirement is a triumphant call to arms to quit your day job, which the Kaiser Chiefs pretty much could do!), while My Kind of Guy is playfully and viciously self-deprecating. But I wonder if the album could have benefited from a tighter concept developed around The Angry Mob, with it’s humungous football terrace outro and critique of collectivism, especially the type driven by tabloids and groupthink. But the concept only pops up in disconnected segments here and there throughout the album. In October 2014, Kaiser Chiefs played at The New Adelphi Club in Hull, East Yorkshire as headline act for the venue's 30th anniversary celebration. [59] A film capturing Kaiser Chiefs performance was made, which was shown at the Adelphi in January 2015 as part of Independent Music Venue Week. In October 2015, the film was screened at the 2015 Tucson Film & Music Festival in Arizona, United States. [60]

Yours Truly, Angry Mob retains the spirit of the first album on some keeper moments, even if a formulaic Kaiser Chief sound begins to regrettably take shape. Laydeezangennulmen, a warm hand for the ‘difficult second album’ from those lovable Yorkshire scamps, the gagmungous geezers of tramp-wanking titillation, the Five Stooges of Britpop 2… Kaiser Chiefs! Altogether now: “WoooooooAAAAHHHH…”

The band revealed to NME in October 2006 that they had recorded 22 songs and hoped to whittle that number down to 13 or 14 for the final album. [10] Additionally, in July 2006 the band revealed to Gigwise that they hoped to have the album released by Valentine's Day 2007. [11] The album was preceded by the release of lead single " Ruby" on 19 February. [12] [13] [14] It became the band's first, and to date, only, number one single on the UK Singles Chart. The album topped the UK Albums Chart and the band released the singles "Everything Is Average Nowadays" on 21 May 2007 and "The Angry Mob" on 20 August 2007.
